New Development Cost Charges Bylaw To Be Considered

Enderby City Council at its regular meeting of March 5, 2018 at 4:30 pm in the Council Chambers of the City of Enderby, 619 Cliff Avenue, Enderby, B.C. will consider Development Cost Charges Bylaw No. 1646, 2018 and Development Cost Charges Waivers and Reductions Bylaw No. 1647, 2018 for Third Reading.

1646 – Development Cost Charges Bylaw

Development Cost Charges Bylaw No. 1646, 2018 does not change Development Cost Charge rates, but it does update administrative provisions related to the following:

  • Clarifying that Development Cost Charges are not collected on secondary suites;
  • Providing the ability to collect Development Cost Charges on multi-family buildings containing fewer than 4 dwelling units;
  • Clarifying how Development Cost Charges will be calculated in “mixed use” zones;
  • Providing the ability to pay all Development Cost Charges by instalments;
  • Allowing Development Cost Charges to be waived for eligible developments, such as not-for-profit rental housing;
  • Providing clarity around when a developer may be eligible for a credit or rebate; and
  • Clarifying when and how to collect Development Cost Charges.

No changes to Development Cost Charge rates are proposed nor will be considered as part of this Bylaw.

A copy of the proposed Bylaws may be inspected at Enderby City Hall, 619 Cliff Avenue, Enderby, B.C. between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., excluding 12:30 p.m. through 1:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding statutory holidays.  Those wishing to make public representation will be provided an opportunity to speak to the matter at the March 5, 2018 Council meeting, or alternatively, written submissions may be dropped off at Enderby City Hall or emailed to info@cityofenderby.com.
