Summer is just around the corner, and the wait is almost over for the first splash into the new Enderby Outdoor Pool! The phased opening kicks off with a soft opening on Friday, June 12, building up to the official ribbon-cutting ceremony and Grand Opening celebration in mid-July.
Starting June 12, the new pool will be operational and offering the regular schedule of public swims, swimming lessons, and aquatic programming. On this day, in addition to aquatic programming and school field trips, there will be a toonie swim from 2:45pm to 3:45pm and a public swim from 6:30pm to 8:30pm.
The soft opening period will be used for staff to train and fine-tune the operations of this brand-new facility. Occasional interruptions and delays are expected as staff learn the facility under real-world conditions. As staff master the new facility, the community’s patience and support is appreciated.
While the pool is ready for action, work on the overall facility is not yet at 100% completion. Work on some facility components and construction items will continue after June 12.
Public excitement over the new outdoor pool has been overwhelming and we expect an extraordinarily high amount of interest in attending as soon as it opens. Public entry will be limited based on the pool’s maximum occupancy, which is the amount of people who can safely be in the pool based on the size of the facilities and the number of lifeguards. There may be very long wait times on the first few days after opening.
The Grand Opening celebration will occur in mid-July. At this time, the community will be invited to a special event to officially open the new Enderby Outdoor Pool. The date of the Grand Opening will be announced soon.
The City of Enderby thanks all residents for their support and enthusiasm in bringing this incredible new recreation space to life.
The pool schedule is available in the Summer 2026 Recreation Guide, available on the City’s website.
