Now that the election has been completed and my tenure as your Mayor comes to an end, I wanted to send you my last report. Despite the fact there will be a new group of people leading this community, a number of significant challenges remain.
The acquisition of the CP Rail corridor which runs through Enderby, development of Barnes Park and continuing to upgrade portions of our infrastructure are only a few. As I had mentioned, the wants and needs list for our community is forever changing and the role of Mayor and Council is to continue to address each of them.
It’s great to see we have received the consultant’s rendering of what Barnes Park can look like [which will be presented at a future public meeting of the Enderby & District Services Commission], with all of the features we have discussed, and I remain very excited to see this project move forward!
In closing, it has been a privilege to serve this community in municipal government for the past nine years, especially the last three as your Mayor. I wish you all the best in the future.
