Washing Hands

Situation Report for March 23, 2020 at 09:10

The City of Enderby thanks those who are responding to the emergency – whether as a frontline worker in health or retail, or an emergency responder, or providers of essential services such as drinking water and sanitary sewer.

The City also thanks those individuals who are following the orders and advice of the authorities through social distancing, voluntary isolation, not contributing to panic buying, and enhancing hygiene and sanitation practices.

The City is introducing additional measures for public safety and the health of its workers:

City Hall

  • Effective immediately, City Hall is closed to the public.  However, services will still be delivered remotely.
  • The public is asked to contact City Hall by telephone at 250-838-7230 or by email at info@cityofenderby.com.
  • During this time, services will be prioritized to the Emergency Operations Centre and non-essential service levels will be adjusted.

Parks

  • Playground structures in City parks (at Barnes Park and Riverside Park) are closed to the public due to the inability to maintain social distancing and sanitation.
  • The playground structures will be wrapped in caution ribbon and signed to prohibit use.

Essential and emergency services continue to be delivered without interruption and contingency plans are in place to ensure the continued delivery of priority services.

Provincial health agencies continue to provide a leadership role with respect to the response. The City has set up an Emergency Operations Centre to liaise with external agencies involved in the pandemic response, coordinate the City’s internal response across departments, and undertake advance planning for response and recovery to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The City encourages all residents to take the necessary precautions as recommended by the BC Centre for Disease Control and observe the orders and advice of the Public Health Officer.

The BC Centre for Disease Control has endorsed the following COVID-19 Symptom Self-Assessment Tool: https://covid19.thrive.health/

Please act responsibly to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
