The Regional District of North Okanagan (RDNO) will be managing the bi-weekly, residential Blue Bag Recycling Program in Enderby until Monday, May 19, 2014.
After May 19, Multi-Material British Columbia (MMBC) will commence its recycling program in Enderby.
MMBC has selected Emterra Environmental as the recycling collection contractor for the North Okanagan. Emterra Environmental will collect recycling from single family residences currently on the RDNO Blue Bag Recycling Program on the same days as collection happens now.
Complexes with more than four units currently on the RDNO Program (not including mobile home complexes and strata complexes currently receiving individual unit curbside service) will not automatically receive service after May 19. Complexes wishing to continue to receive recycling service after May 19 must make arrangements through Emterra Environmental or another waste service provider.
Residents are advised that recyclable materials left at the curbside after May 19 in BLUE or CLEAR bags will NOT be picked up. Two blue boxes, along with an MMBC Recycling Program Guide, will be delivered to all single family residences, legal suites, mobile home parks and strata complexes for use under the new MMBC Program for curbside collection. Please do not begin using the blue box until after May 19.
Multi-family residences with more than four units currently participating in the RDNO Program (not including mobile home parks or strata complexes receiving individual unit curbside service) will NOT automatically receive service through the MMBC after May 19. Multi-family residences wishing to continue to receive recycling collection services are responsible to make their own arrangements through a waste services provider. MMBC has two registered companies that can provide a collection service:
- Emterra Environmental, Ph: 250-545-4245 / firstname.lastname@example.org
- Smithrite Disposal Ltd., Ph: 1-800-643-8368 / email@example.com
