Canada’s birthday bash is on July 1st, and this will be a Canada Day Celebration like no other!
Join us for exciting virtual and at-a-distance activities to ring in Canada Day in a safe way. We’ve got everything but the birthday cake! (Note for birthday cake fans: ask for a double portion at Canada Day 2021 and we will hook you up!).
So what’s in the cards for Canada Day 2020 in Enderby, you may ask?
The day starts at 11am with a Virtual Canada Day celebration hosted by the Enderby & District Chamber of Commerce. From singing the anthem to getting in on a Canada-themed house decorating contest to trivia contests, art contests, and egg-drop contests, there are tons of fun ways to show your spirit and win some cool prizes.

And hey, we know that (most of) our pets want to get in on the festivities too, so there is even a virtual pet parade!
During the Virtual Canada Day event, there will be a fantastic performance by local rockabilly sensations, the Dixie Fried Hep Katz!
From 5-7pm, Music by the River in Belvedere Park will feature 5Alive. Tickets must be obtained in advance from the Enderby & District Chamber of Commerce or you can email info@enderbychamber.com to reserve your seats, so that the size of the gathering can be managed. Make sure that you secure your spots before they are gone. But no fear if you miss out – this too will be live-streamed for maximum audience enjoyment! Note: if the outdoor concert gets rained out, it will be relocated indoors to the Seniors Centre on George Street.
There will also be 3 loonie swims offered on Canada Day at our recently-reopened pool! There is a maximum of 40 persons per session, and each session is 1 hour with a 15 minute break for sanitation. Sessions will be : 1:00-2:00pm; 2:15-3:15pm; and 3:30-4:30pm. It’s first-come-first-served, so cool off at the pool or otherwise our fun-to-the-max spray park.
Of course, what would Canada Day be without fireworks to light up the night sky! Hosted by the Enderby & District Fire Department, this display is sure to dazzle. The show will start between 9:30 and 10:00pm subject to weather and when the light drops to the perfect level to see the fireworks in all their glory! Please watch from home or a distance in your vehicle, as access to the park is not permitted. You can even livestream it from the comfort of your home!
Canada Day is always a special occasion, but this birthday in particular we need to make count. Decorate your house, your person, your pet. Sing, celebrate, dance to the music, cheer at the fireworks! Enjoy a fantastic Virtual Canada Day with your loved ones in your bubble and remember – this is a Canada Day to celebrate what is most important.
