What better way to wrap up an incredible summer of community events than with a totally rad night of music, dancing and ’80s style?
Enderby & District Lions Club, signed on as the title sponsor of 80s Dance Party by the River without hesitation and helped blast Belvidere Park back to the MTV generation. The Lions Club continues to play an invaluable role in supporting our community, and they are looking for new volunteers to join their ranks and help make a difference.
Congratulations to Deryk and Shannon, winners of the 80s Style Showdown, taking home the grand prize after going up against more than 25 contestants! Every participant looked amazing and many could have stepped straight out of the 1980s.
A huge thank you to the many volunteers who helped bring the event to life, from set design and traffic control to takedown. We also extend our appreciation to Event Coordinator Vallerie Byrne, Enderby & District Recreation Services and Public Works for their tremendous work behind the scenes.
Special thanks to Sunbelt Rentals, who generously volunteered to donate the event lighting simply because they wanted to support this free community celebration.
And with that, we officially wrap up a truly incredible summer of community events, record crowds and memory-making in Enderby.
