Situation Report for June 17, 2022 at 15:00

The City of Enderby Emergency Operations Centre is monitoring and responding to localized flood conditions and encourages residents who may live in flood-prone areas to take measures to protect their property.

Riverdale Drive is partially inundated and is now closed except for local traffic. Please obey the traffic control signs and barricades.

Closures continue for the Kildonan Boat Launch and Tuey Park.

As of June 17, 2022, at the upstream hydrometric gauge, the Shuswap River water height is 4.84 m (15.88 feet) with a discharge rate of 462 m3/s.  In comparison, yesterday, June 16, 2022, the Shuswap River water height was 4.80 (15.75) feet with a discharge rate of 455 m3/s.

Light rains are forecast tonight and through the weekend.  Please note that there is potential for elevated rains in other areas of the drainage basin, which could impact the Shuswap River levels.

Forecast models are predicting that the Shuswap River discharge rate has reached its initial peak today, with a discharge rate of 465.5 m/s, with this peak expected to fluctuate moderately next week, subject to unexpected levels of precipitation.

Sand and sandbags are available for free at the Public Works Yard at 2308 McGowan Street. Please bring your own shovel.
