Notice is hereby given that the following property will be sold by public auction under the provisions of Part 16 of the Local Government Act. The tax sale will be held on Monday, September 29, 2025 at 10:00am in the Council Chambers of the City of Enderby, 619 Cliff Avenue, Enderby BC.

At the time of the bid, the successful bidder shall be required to pay in cash, certified cheque or Interac the minimum of no less than the upset price. Any person placing a successful bid on behalf of a company must be prepared to affix the company's corporate seal to the documents.

The property can be withdrawn from the tax sale upon payment to the Collector of delinquent taxes, plus interest accrued, by cash, Interac or bank draft provide such payment is received at City Hall prior to 10:00am on Monday, September 29, 2025.

Refund interest paid to a tax sale purchaser due to the redemption of a tax sale property is considered to be taxable income pursuant to the Income Tax Act and therefore, the tax sale purchaser may accordingly receive a T5 slip.

The purchase of tax sale property that is not redeemed is subject to tax under the Property Transfer Tax Act on the fair market value of the property at the time of title transfer.

Notice is hereby provided that Council of the City of Enderby intends to amend the City of Enderby 2024-2027 Tax Exemption Bylaw No. 1778, 2023. The following properties have received tax exemptions in the past, but due to a change in ownership, the bylaw needs to be amended to continue to provide the tax exemptions. The tax exemptions will be for the years 2026 and 2027 in accordance with Section 224 of the Community Charter.

Pursuant to Section 227, an estimate of the amount of taxes that would be imposed on the property if it were not exempt, for the year in which the proposed bylaw is to take affect, along with the year thereafter is provided for the public's information.

Council will be considering the adoption of the amended bylaw during the regular meeting of Council on Monday October 6, 2025 at 4:30pm.

The City of Enderby intends to adopt "Water Treatment Plant Upgrade Loan Authorization Bylaw No. 1818, 2025" which authorizes the borrowing of up to $4.1 million to finance a portion of the costs for upgrades to the water treatment plant that will be repaid over a period not to exceed thirty years.

In order to proceed with the adoption of the bylaw, the City is seeking elector approval through the Alternative Approval Process.

Council proposes to adopt Bylaw No. 1818 unless, by 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday September 2, 2025, at least 10% of the electors in the City of Enderby sign an elector response form opposing the adoption of the bylaw unless Council holds a vote. If you are not opposed to the adoption of the bylaw, you need do nothing.

The number of elector responses required to prevent the adoption of the bylaw unless a vote is held is estimated to be 238.

Online Payments for Property Taxes and Utilities

Did you know that we accept online payments from all major banks?

In your online banking, search “Enderby” as a payee. There will be two options, one for taxes and one for utilities. Select the one you would like to pay.

Your account number for both is your jurisdiction and roll number combined, with no dots or spaces. The utility account number will have three extra digits. This number can be found on your utility bill and tax notice as shown below.

Pre-Authorized Payment Plan

The City’s pre-authorized payment plan provides property owners with a convenient way to pay property taxes and/or utility bills. Payments will be automatically withdrawn from your bank account based on the program you sign up for.

Property Taxes

There are two programs available for payments to your property tax account. The City will either:

• Withdraw 11 equal monthly payments calculated using the current years taxes plus 3%, with a final 12th payment on July 1st to pay off any remaining balance. The City will recalculate your monthly payment each year. Please note that if you sign up for this program after August 1st, your payment amount will be calculated using the number of payments remaining.

OR

• Withdraw 11 monthly payments (no payment on July 1st) in the amount of your choosing that will remain static each year.

Utilities

The balance owing on your utility account will be withdrawn from your account on each utility bill due date.
