Enderby is thrilled to announce that the highly anticipated new outdoor pool officially welcomed its first swimmers on June 18, 2026, for a soft opening. A grand opening celebration date will be announced in the near future.

The new pool facility is already receiving rave feedback from early visitors. From the leisure pool with its lazy river to the beach entry area - which is proving perfect for parents and tots - the pool offers something for everyone. In addition to these highlights, the new outdoor pool features dedicated lap lanes and a modern change building.

Enderby's new outdoor pool was developed as a joint project between the City of Enderby and Electoral Area F of the Regional District of North Okanagan, with funding support from both the federal and provincial governments.

The project also benefited from incredible local contributions. The Enderby & District Lions Club donated towards the upcoming spray features, and the Enderby Legion Branch No. 98 provided a donation dedicated to the pool's accessibility features.

During the soft opening of the outdoor pool, the public is asked for extra patience as staff learn the operational nuances of the new amenities while providing service to what is expected to be record-breaking numbers of patrons.

"Our staff and lifeguards are eager to welcome everyone back to the water and into this incredible new space," said Sheryl Hay with Enderby & District Recreation Services. "We appreciate the community's support as our team gets to know the unique dynamics of this facility and works hard to deliver safe, high-quality public swimming and recreation programs for all ages."

Furthermore, some facility components are still in the final stages of commissioning. This includes the waterslide, two spray features, bubbler bench, and hot tub. These amenities will be opened over the next several weeks.  As well, construction work will be ongoing to finish the pool building, so certain sections may be cordoned off to protect the public while work is occurring, and some temporary construction solutions may be visible.

"We are thrilled to dive in and share this new facility with our community," says Mayor Huck Galbraith.  "This pool will be a vibrant gathering place where families will build memories for generations to come. It shows what we can achieve through regional cooperation, senior government investment, and the generosity of our local service clubs like the Lions and the Legion."

Allysa Hopkins, Chair of the Enderby & District Services Commission and Director of Area F (Rural Enderby), added, "This new outdoor pool is a spectacular win for our entire region.  Seeing the pool come to life just in time for the heat of the summer makes it all the more special.  From young families to aquafitting adults and seniors, the new pool will create a special experience that includes everybody."

Online Payments for Property Taxes and Utilities

Did you know that we accept online payments from all major banks?

In your online banking, search “Enderby” as a payee. There will be two options, one for taxes and one for utilities. Select the one you would like to pay.

Your account number for both is your jurisdiction and roll number combined, with no dots or spaces. The utility account number will have three extra digits. This number can be found on your utility bill and tax notice as shown below.

Pre-Authorized Payment Plan

The City’s pre-authorized payment plan provides property owners with a convenient way to pay property taxes and/or utility bills. Payments will be automatically withdrawn from your bank account based on the program you sign up for.

Property Taxes

This program is intended to build a credit towards next years taxes and does not apply to any current taxes owing. All current taxes must be paid by the due date stated on your property tax notice to avoid penalties.

There are two programs available for pre-payments towards your 2027 property taxes. The City will either:

• Beginning August 1st, Withdraw 11 equal monthly payments calculated using the current years taxes plus 3%, with a final 12th payment on July 1st to pay off any remaining balance. The City will recalculate your monthly payment each year. Please note that if you sign up for this program after August 1st, your payment amount will be calculated using the number of payments remaining.

OR

• Beginning August 1st, withdraw 11 monthly payments (no payment on July 1st) in the amount of your choosing that will remain static each year.

Utilities

The balance owing on your utility account will be withdrawn from your account on each utility bill due date.

The Annual Report includes the following:

• A report on recent and forthcoming municipal services and operations
• 2025 audited financial statements

Council will be receiving public input and approving the Annual Report during its regular meeting on Monday, June 15, 2026 at 4:30pm.

The public may provide input during the meeting or provide a written submission.

Written submissions are to be received at City Hall no later than 3:30pm on Monday, June 15, 2026.

The John Pritchard Memorial Sports Complex is about to get a whole lot louder.

Enderby is proud to announce that it will serve as the home ice for the Enderby Icemen, a new franchise in the Western International Junior Hockey League (WIJHL). This partnership marks a major victory for local sports, driving elite athlete development and promising a high-octane experience for a community known to have some of the best fans in the game.

“Enderby is a hockey town, plain and simple,” said Mayor Huck Galbraith. “Hosting the Enderby Icemen at our arena is a win for our entire sports culture. I know our community will show up loud and proud. I cannot wait to hear the arena rocking when our team takes the ice. It is going to be electric!”

The arrival of the Enderby Icemen adds a thrilling new chapter to the storied hockey culture shared by the City and Rural Enderby (Area F), further establishing the John Pritchard Memorial Sports Complex as a vital hub for local athletes and fans alike.

Enderby & District Services Commission Chair and RDNO Area F Director Allysa Hopkins noted that the team will be a centrepiece for community spirit. “This adds another layer of excitement to our facility,” Hopkins said. “We have a fantastic venue and the best people to fill the stands and root for our team. I am thrilled to see the energy that Junior hockey will bring to our winter season. Let’s go, Icemen!”

As the Enderby Icemen prepare for their debut season, fans should watch for upcoming announcements regarding the full WIJHL schedule, tickets, merchandise, and a home-opener celebration. It’s time to start making ice - Enderby has a home team once again, and the season cannot start soon enough.

Enderby’s new outdoor pool is almost ready to make a big splash in the community.

With construction nearing completion, a soft opening date of June 12 has been set.  During the soft opening, the pool will be available for use, with some non-critical items still progressing while staff continue to train on facility operations. A grand opening celebration is planned for July 2026.

Enderby’s new outdoor pool is a modern aquatic facility that will provide exciting new recreation opportunities for residents and visitors. The new pool will offer features for all ages, including:

• A slide
• Spray features
• A lazy river
• A shallow family and tot area
• A hot tub
• Enhanced shade areas
• Family change areas
• Improved accessibility features throughout
• New pool building

While opening day is a few weeks later than anticipated at the start of construction, the schedule was adjusted after several important mechanical components did not pass the manufacturer’s quality control process and had to be remade before shipment to site. Replacement components have now passed quality testing and are on their way to Enderby.

The new outdoor pool is a significant addition to Enderby’s facilities.  Its design and amenities will create new opportunities for the entire community to come together through swimming and recreation.

Summer is about to get even better as the new outdoor pool opens its doors to the community.

This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who takes pride in community spaces and wants to grow a long-term career in municipal operations. You will be instrumental in maintaining our ball diamonds, ice arena, and brand-new outdoor pool.

This position is best suited to a person with a strong attention to detail, excellent customer service and communication skills, the ability to learn new things and implement procedures with quality, consistency, and good judgement under limited supervision, and the ability to work a flexible shift schedule.

The position offers a 30-hour work week with a heavy concentration on evenings and weekends, with the potential for additional hours based on user group and facility needs.

The starting wage for this position is $30.77 per hour.

• Ice Facility Operator or Refrigeration Operator certification is preferred.  The successful candidate must, as a condition of employment, obtain their Refrigeration Safety Awareness designation by September 1, 2026, their Ice Facility Operator certification by May 1, 2027 and their Refrigeration Operator certification prior to May 1, 2029.
• Pool Operator 1 certification is preferred (must be obtained within 6 months of start date).
• Work in a professional and safe manner at all times.
• Able to work evenings and weekends.
• Strong customer service and teamwork values.
• Perform physical labour, including lifting, shovelling, and climbing, occasionally in confined spaces and at heights.
• Excellent problem-solving and multi-tasking abilities, including an attention to detail while applying practical and technical skills in the field.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills as well as the ability to learn new things, including operating a public pool and an ice refrigeration plant in accordance with technical and safety regulations and requirements.
• Working knowledge of standard office and communication computer applications.
• Grade 12 or equivalent.
• A Class 5 BC Driver’s License and ability to obtain and maintain a clean driving record.
• Must provide and maintain an acceptable Police Information Check.
• WHMIS and Basic First Aid.

A fire ban will be in effect as of 12:00 pm (noon) on May 7, 2026. The fire ban affects the City of Enderby and the Shuswap River Fire Protection District.

The fire ban is consistent with the Kamloops Fire Centre Direction, which prohibits:

• Category 2 open fires;
• Category 3 open fires;
• Fireworks;
• Sky Lanterns;
• Binary Exploding Targets;
• Burn Barrels or Burn Cages of any size or description; and,
• Air Curtain Burners;
• Carbonizers;
• Controlled Air Incinerators.

*Note that the City of Enderby Good Neighbour Bylaw provides additional regulations for campfires and outdoor fireplaces which must be followed if you live within the City. The City also has a permit system for all open burning; all permit holders must not open burn during the ban. Chocolate-y smiles were the theme of the Enderby Easter Celebration on Sunday, April 5, 2026.

More than 300 egg hunters divided and conquered two waves of Easter Egg Hunts at Riverside Park.

The business community was unbelievably generous with their financial support allowing the Easter Egg Hunts to be more robust than ever with more than 11,000 goodies spread across two ball diamonds.

New this year was a Teen Easter Trivia Challenge, where dozens of teens hustled to answer holiday-related questions for their chance to win prizes.

All of the activities were absolutely unbelievable again this year. And, all entirely free!

Thank you to Event Coordinator, Vallerie Byrne for curating this truly spectacular day.

This event would not be possible without the incredible volunteers who make it happen. They are there before the public arrives setting everything up and they are there after everyone departs cleaning up.

Stage 1 of The City of Enderby's Water Conservation and Drought Response Framework restricts water use from May 1st to October 1st of every year. This helps to decrease over-watering, water waste, and the related impact upon public infrastructure.

Remember, just because it is your day to water, that does not mean that you must water your lawn. Check first and only water if it's needed.

Sprinkling is permitted for a maximum of 2 hours per day between the hours of 6:00am and 9:00am and 6:00pm and 9:00pm.

Properties with even numbered civic addresses may water on even numbered days. Properties with odd numbered civic addresses may water on odd numbered days.

Properties with automatic sprinkling systems may water between the hours of 12:00am and 6:00am on their assigned watering days.

Hand-watering on days other than your assigned watering day is permitted providing you use a hand-held container or hose with a shutoff device.
