Chocolate-y smiles were the theme of the Enderby Easter Celebration on Sunday, April 5, 2026.

More than 300 egg hunters divided and conquered two waves of Easter Egg Hunts at Riverside Park.

The business community was unbelievably generous with their financial support allowing the Easter Egg Hunts to be more robust than ever with more than 11,000 goodies spread across two ball diamonds.

New this year was a Teen Easter Trivia Challenge, where dozens of teens hustled to answer holiday-related questions for their chance to win prizes.

All of the activities were absolutely unbelievable again this year. And, all entirely free!

Thank you to Event Coordinator, Vallerie Byrne for curating this truly spectacular day.

This event would not be possible without the incredible volunteers who make it happen. They are there before the public arrives setting everything up and they are there after everyone departs cleaning up.

Stage 1 of The City of Enderby's Water Conservation and Drought Response Framework restricts water use from May 1st to October 1st of every year. This helps to decrease over-watering, water waste, and the related impact upon public infrastructure.

Remember, just because it is your day to water, that does not mean that you must water your lawn. Check first and only water if it's needed.

Sprinkling is permitted for a maximum of 2 hours per day between the hours of 6:00am and 9:00am and 6:00pm and 9:00pm.

Properties with even numbered civic addresses may water on even numbered days. Properties with odd numbered civic addresses may water on odd numbered days.

Properties with automatic sprinkling systems may water between the hours of 12:00am and 6:00am on their assigned watering days.

Hand-watering on days other than your assigned watering day is permitted providing you use a hand-held container or hose with a shutoff device.

The 2026 proposed budget for the City of Enderby is now available for public input.

Mayor and Council will be considering public input at its April 20, 2026 regular Council meeting.

Enderby is putting community pride into action.

The City is calling on residents of all ages to join the 14th Annual Our Enderby Clean-Up Challenge and help keep our parks, streets, and public spaces beautiful.

The event takes place Saturday, April 18, from 10 am to 12 pm. Volunteers will gather at the City Hall Parking Lot (George St. and Mill Ave.), where the City will provide coffee and snacks.

“This event captures the heart of what makes Enderby special,” said Mayor Huck Galbraith. “It’s not just about picking up litter.  It’s about showing pride in where we live and setting an example for our kids. When we show up for each other and for our shared spaces, we create a deeper sense of community.”

The Clean-Up Challenge is a collaborative effort supported by several local partners. Once the work is finished, volunteers will be provided a free appreciation BBQ, generously provided by the Enderby & District Lions Club.

Additionally, the City’s FireSmart Booth will be on-site to offer expert advice on protecting homes from wildfire risks, along with helpful resources and free swag for residents.

Adding to the day’s activities, the Lions Club will host its Annual Shredding Event by donation from 10 am to 2 pm in the Enderby & District Financial parking lot. This provides local businesses and residents a secure way to dispose of sensitive documents while supporting a local cause.

Whether you are a long-time resident, new to the community, or part of a local sports team or other community organization, this is an opportunity to get involved and connect with your neighbours.

Bring your friends and family to the City Hall Parking Lot on April 18 and be part of a meaningful day of service.

Curbside collection of residential spring pruning and bagged organics will occur Sunday, April 26, 2026.

Unacceptable materials or materials that are not prepared properly will not be picked up.

All bags and pruning bundles should be left at curbside by the previous evening.

Instructions on Preparing Materials

Prunings

• No more than 4” diameter and 6’ long
• Must be bundled with string or compostable twine
• No roots or dirt – must be clean!
• Stacked separately from thorns and clear bags
• 50 pound maximum per bundle

Leaves, Grass, Garden Refuse

• Clear or translucent bags only
• No loose materials
• No inorganic material such as dirt or non-yard/garden waste
• 50 pound maximum per bag

This program is intended to deal with pruning that typically occurs from one spring to the next. It is not intended to address large volumes of pruning associated with landscaping or properties that have not been tended for a number of years.

If you have a large volume of prunings or a mixture of materials that do not fit with this program, you can drop it off year-round for free at one of RDNO’s Recycling and Disposal Facilities.

Enderby, BC - The City of Enderby is pleased to announce that construction of the City’s new Lower Reservoir is complete and the facility has now been brought fully into service.

The Lower Reservoir is one of two reservoirs that support Enderby’s drinking water and fire protection system, which provides service to the City of Enderby as well as a number of Splatsin and Electoral Area “F” consumers. The former reservoir was replaced after a routine inspection identified a significant structural failure related to age and condition.

The new reservoir has been constructed as a modern, two-cell facility that meets current health, safety, and engineering standards for drinking water infrastructure. In addition to improving system reliability, the reservoir has been sized to accommodate future community growth and has created an opportunity to enhance available fire flows throughout the system.

Prior to being placed into service, the reservoir successfully met all health authority requirements related to structures that store drinking water. The facility’s instrumentation and controls have been tested and integrated into the City’s overall water system to ensure reliable operation and monitoring.

Mayor Huck Galbraith welcomed the completion of the project, noting its importance to the community:

This project is a major investment in the health and safety of our community. Completing the new Lower Reservoir gives us confidence that our drinking water system is reliable, resilient, and ready to support both existing residents and future growth. I’m very proud of the work that’s been done and grateful to the team who worked together to deliver this essential piece of infrastructure for Enderby.

The replacement of the Lower Reservoir was funded through a combination of grant funding from the provincial Growing Communities fund and the City of Enderby’s asset management reserves, reflecting the City’s long-term approach to maintaining and renewing critical infrastructure.

With the new reservoir now fully online and system capacity restored, the City of Enderby is also pleased to announce that Stage 2 watering restrictions have been lifted, effective immediately.

Residents are thanked for their patience and cooperation during construction and while the water system improvements were completed.

On July 18, 2025, the City of Enderby unveiled the first sculpture under its Public Art Sculpture Program, ‘Mother Earth’, created by local sculptor Hop You.  The sculpture stands along George Street (Highway 97A), next to City Hall, and represents the essence of Mother Earth – celebrating water, land, and animals. 

Guided by dreams inspired by the Creator, Hop’s work draws deeply from nature.  Influenced by his elder’s teachings that caring for Mother Earth brings rewards in life’s journey, Hop uses his art to preserve and pass down his knowledge and experiences to future generations.

The City would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended the unveiling of the Mother Earth sculpture.  The City was deeply grateful for the presence of distinguished guests, including Kukpi7 Christian and Tkwamipla7, elder Adele Thomas, MP Mel Arnold, MLA David Williams, and Area F Director Alyssa Hopkins.  A special thanks to the Enderby & District Arts Council and Public Art Select Committee who helped to launch the City’s Public Art Sculpture Program.  Most importantly, a huge thank you to Hop You for sharing this remarkable piece of art with our community!

Did you know that the City of Enderby is located in a wildlife interface area?  In these areas, wildlife is at risk of being habituated to unnatural food sources such as residential garbage and fruit from fruit trees, which often leads to the wildlife losing their fear of humans and becoming dangerous, at which point they must be euthanized.

To help prevent this, the City of Enderby has adopted Wildlife Attractant Bylaw No. 1754, 2022 which requires property owners to properly manage wildlife attractants on their properties.  Pursuant to the City’s Wildlife Attractant Bylaw, here are 10 things you can do to help us to co-exist and prevent conflict with wildlife who inhabit the area:

1. Store your garbage indoors or otherwise in durable, rigid receptacles that are fitted with covers that are inaccessible to wildlife.
2. Do not place your garbage at curbside earlier than 4:00 am on the day of collection.
3. Do not feed or attempt to feed wildlife such as deer or bear.
4. Keep the exterior of your property clear of any food products or food containers, and ensure your compost is kept and maintained in an enclosed and secure rigid container that is inaccessible to wildlife.
5. Ensure that any refrigerators or freezers that are stored outdoors are inaccessible to wildlife.
6. If your pet food is stored outdoors, ensure it is kept in a secure, wildlife-resistant container.
7. Clean barbecue after use – don’t forget the grease trap!
8. Remove any fruit from your fruit trees that has fallen to the ground.
9. Keep birdfeeders suspended in a manner that is inaccessible to wildlife, and keep the ground under birdfeeders clear of seeds.
10. Ensure your domestic animals, backyard hens and backyard bees are reasonably inaccessible to wildlife.
