Campfire Ban

Enderby Campfire Ban in Effect as of July 16, 2014

The City of Enderby has announced that it is implementing a campfire ban effective noon on July 16, 2014.  The ban applies to the City of Enderby and the Shuswap Fire Protection District.  Consistent with the Kamloops Fire Centre’s directive, the ban also applies to tiki torches.

Enderby and District Volunteer Fire Department Chief Kevin Alstad says “The area is extremely dry and there is a high risk of forest fires.  This step is being taken to help prevent human-caused wildfires and to protect public safety.”

Unless advised otherwise, this campfire ban is in effect until the Kamloops Fire Centre rescinds its notice.
